Natural monument of Yamanashi-ken

They were appointed to the Yamanashi natural monument in 1958. The seven sacred trees standing in the precincts, the number and the name has given. All cedars are 40m in height or more, and the age is over 1200. The trunk of all cedars grows straight and does not branch off.

It is really precious in Japan such huge trees are gathered up in one place and are kept vigor. Seeing from a main shrine, seven cedars are planted towards a direction of Mt.Fuji.

“Futahashra" is called the cedar of marriage. The man goes round the outside of the cedar from the right. The woman walks from the left. And they can get married when go and worship after going through it between cedars.
