Tenku-no Torii (Torii gate in the sky)

Tenku-no Torii (Torii gate in the sky)

It was built as a place to pray at Mt.Fuji from a distance. It takes about 30 minutes on foot from Kawaguchi Asama Shrine, but less than 10 minutes by car. If you go a little further up, there is Hahano Shirataki Shrine.

In the spring of 2019, a torii gate was built so that Mt.Fuji, could be worshiped from the hill.

A lot of cherry saplings are planted on the site. Cuttings of the three major cherry trees in Japan are also planted there. They will grow into symbols in a decade or so.

You can get there by car, but parking is not available. There are several places to park your car, but be careful as the road is narrow. Especially on the way back down, do not overspeed.
