Important Cultural Property of Japan
The main shrine becoming the Japanese important cultural property is Mt.Fuji oldest shrine built in 699 years. It was on the second stage of Mt.Fuji first. Satomiya was built on the shore of Lake Kawaguchiko which was a current place to be easy to worship for 958 years. This Satomiya is appointed to an important cultural property of Fujikawaguchiko-machi.

The main shrine, which was at the Mt.Fuji second stage was burnt down under the influence of the eruption of Mt.Fuji many times. And it decayed because natural environments were severe. The rebuilding of the main shrine was repeated by the Takeda and Imperial Family each time.
The current main shrine was built in 1612 years by Naritsugu Torii who was a vassal of Tokugawa, and was a feudal lord of this area. 4 times after construction, it renovation has been repeated.
In 1974, the main shrine was moved from the Mt.Fuji second stage to the current place for the purpose of eternal protection.
Okumiya Shrine was newly constructed at the Nigome of Mt.Fuji. The worship hall remained as it was then, but it has decayed and is now crumbling. This place is an enclave of Fujikawaguchiko-machi in Fujiyoshida-shi.

Spring Annual Festival, Apr.25
It is called a Spring Big Festival, or a “Hana-sai". It is known that ancient horseback archery festival (Yabusame) is held on April 29.

The youth of the village dressed like long-nosed goblin “Tengu" and Kappa, Samurai, Yumimochi, Reijin works as a cortege. They move an object of worship which a divine spirit dwelled in to the miniature shrine.
