Rokkakudo
Important cultural property of Fujikawaguchiko-machi
It was built by Fujikawaguchiko-machi in 1994. The official name is historic spot “Kawakubo Terayashiki", the preservation facilities name is “Rokkakudo (hexagon temple)".
The temple built in the place in 1274 by believers of the Nichiren saint, but a lake overflowed by a heavy rain and snow-thawing in 1559 and has been submerged. The next year, it was reconstructed to current Myohoji Temple, so Rokkakudo was built to leave a former historic spot. In a wooden one-storied house, 7 meters in height, the total of floor space is approximately 11 square meters of small temple.
It became a land bridge by drawdown in 2013, there was a rare phenomenon that walking to the Rokkakudo.
