Shishidome power plant Usobuki waterway intake
Registered tangible cultural property of Japan
It is an intake of Shishidome power plant Usobuki waterway where it was started construction in 1911 to use water of Lake Kawaguchiko for power generation and was completed in 1918. It regulates the water level in a puddle, and the structure of masonry used for waterway revetment is a construction to express characteristics at the time well. The ability for biggest drainage is 8 tons per second, and it takes the role of flooding measures of Lake Kawaguchiko.
It is facing the street of many tourists, but because it is surrounded by high wire netting, there are almost not people to look at it.

Like an intake, it is a registered tangible cultural property of Japan. It is structure to drain water in an open conduit.
