Fujisan World Heritage Center
It is the scientific pavilion, which featured the theme of nature, the history, culture of Mount Fuji managed by Yamanashi-ken. You can obtain the information to help sightseeing around Mt. Fuji and Fuji Five Lakes. It receives designation as “Visit Japan" information office from the Japan National Tourist Organization (JNTO) and guide foreign languages for the visitor from the foreign country.
It is located at end neighborhood of the Mt. Fuji lava flow called “Kemmarubi", and is just the entrance of Mt. Fuji.
On Jun.22 2016, in addition to the North building of the former Fuji Visitor Center, it opened the “Fujisan World Heritage Center" with the New South Hall.
The South Hall is called “Learning the World Heritage Mt. Fuji", and introduces the nature, the culture, and the history related to World Heritage Fuji Mountain consisting of 25 constituent assets.
In the center, Mt. Fuji of about 1/1000 made of washi paper, “Fugaku 360" is offered, and it is a mechanism that the expression changes various according to the image of the screen.
On the first floor of the North Hall, there is an information counter, an exhibition room, and a shop stall, and you can see the history of the eruption of Mt. Fuji by a large screen and introduction of nature and culture. A viewing platform and the restaurant which can look at Mount Fuji are on the second floor and can spend relaxed time.
The first-floor exhibition room is divided into three zones of the “Worship" “Nature" “Art". In the zone of “Worship", the Mt. Fuji worship and “Component parts of the world heritage Mt. Fuji" are explained. In the zone of “Nature", you can know Mt. Fuji and neighboring natural history, and the history of the eruption, through various facilities. In the zone of “Art", you can know various art and creative activity about Mt. Fuji.
