Koyodai

Koyodai offers the spectacular view of Mount Fuji and the Aokigahara Jukai Forest. In autumn, you can see the beautiful autumn foliage, true to the spot’s name, “Koyodai" (Autumn Leaves Plateau).
Koyodai is located on the Tokai Nature Trail, a popular hiking course that traverses Mount Ashiwada. There is the “Koyodai Rest House" where hikers can take a break.
The view from this rest house’s observatory is wonderful, overlooking the Aokigahara Jukai Forest stretching from the base of Mount Fuji. An admission fee of ¥200 is required to access the observatory. We appreciate your cooperation, as this fee helps maintain the facilities.
Please note that the rest house is generally open from 8:30 to 17:00, but these hours are subject to change due to weather. The house will be closed, especially during heavy snowfall or when snow remains on the ground. If the rest house is closed, access to the observation deck is not possible.
Getting to Mount Koyodai
The Koyodai parking lot is about a 20-minute drive from Kawaguchiko Station and is located along Route 139, en route to Lake Motosuko. Turn right off Route 139, and you will find the parking lot on your left. The hike to Koyodai is approximately half an hour from there.
If traveling by bus, take the “Blue Line" from Kawaguchiko Station and get off at the “Koyodai Entrance" bus stop. The ride takes approximately 30 minutes and costs ¥590 one way.
There is an unpaved road leading to the rest house, but this is an access road used primarily for the transportation of goods and hiking course maintenance. As a general rule, this road is not intended for public vehicle access to the rest house. If you choose to drive at your own discretion, please drive cautiously and be mindful of pedestrians.
