Tenku-no Torii (Torii gate in the sky)

It was built as a place to offer remote worship to Mount Fuji (Enkaku Haisho). It takes about 30 minutes on foot from Kawaguchi Asama Shrine, but less than 10 minutes by car. If you go a little further up, you will find Hahano Shirataki Shrine.
In the spring of 2019, a torii gate was built on the hill so that Mount Fuji could be worshiped from this vantage point.
Many cherry saplings are planted on the site. Young trees (seedlings) from Japan’s three great cherry trees are also planted there. They are expected to grow into symbolic landmarks in about a decade.
You can get there by car, but please be careful as both the road and the parking areas are narrow. Especially on the way back down, please drive slowly and avoid speeding.
