Oishi park

Located in the Oishi district on the northern shore of Lake Kawaguchiko, Oishi Park offers a stunning location where you can take in views of both the lake and Mount Fuji at once. Seasonal flowers bloom beautifully along the lakeside promenade throughout the year. On sunny days, the park is bustling from early morning with photographers capturing the iconic Mt. Fuji framed by the lake and flowers.
The park features a spacious free parking lot, making it a popular rest stop for cyclists and motorcyclists on tour. There is also a dedicated play area with swings, a sandbox, and slides, providing a perfect spot for families with children to take a break and play.
The scenery at Oishi Park is truly unique, featuring seasonal flowers in full bloom with Lake Kawaguchiko stretching out behind them, and Mount Fuji standing majestic with its perfectly symmetrical slopes. Simply taking a leisurely stroll along the flower-lined path while gazing at Japan’s highest peak brings a sense of deep relaxation and peace.
The 350-meter-long “Flower Path"
The 'Hana-kaido’ (Flower Road) stretching to the west of Oishi Park offers a variety of colorful flowers to enjoy throughout the seasons. At the end of the path, a vast field of Kochia (summer cypress) spreads out from summer to autumn, making it a highly popular photo spot.

“OISHI PARK CAFE", “KITCHEN FUJIYAMA VIEW"

Opened in February 2020, this two-story cafe and restaurant offers two distinct dining experiences. On the first floor, 'OISHI PARK CAFE’ is directly connected to the Kawaguchiko Natural Living Center, serving light snacks such as jam sandwiches, egg sandwiches, and frozen drinks.
The second floor houses 'KITCHEN FUJIYAMA VIEW,’ a cafe-restaurant with a stunning vantage point where you can enjoy meals like curry and pizza. On clear days, the large windows are fully opened, allowing you to dine while taking in the refreshing breeze and the magnificent views of Lake Kawaguchiko and Mt. Fuji.
“Oishi-Ya"
This is a local farmers’ market operated by the Oishi Tourism Association. Here, you can purchase fresh vegetables at affordable prices, and their 'sashimi konjac’—handmade from locally grown konjac potatoes—is popular. The market is a favorite not only for tourists but also for local residents and those staying long-term at nearby villas. Since many of the staff members also run their own lodging businesses nearby, they assist with inquiries about local sightseeing and accommodations. Please note that the shop may close early depending on the day’s stock.
Monument made of stones from “Fujis" all over Japan
This monument stands in the most prominent spot at the Kawaguchiko Natural Living Center. It is a single, large Mt. Fuji constructed from stones collected from 252 'Hometown Fujis’ (mountains with 'Fuji’ in their name) located all across Japan. The collection spans the entire nation, starting with the original Mt. Fuji in Yamanashi, including Ezo Fuji (Mt. Yotei) in Hokkaido, Tsugaru Fuji in Aomori, and finally reaching Motobu Fuji in Okinawa.
By the way, February 23rd is designated as 'Mt. Fuji Day’ because the numbers 2-2-3 can be read as 'Fu-ji-san’ in Japanese.
The mountain range and “Shindo Pass" rising behind Oishi Park

Looking up from Oishi Park, you can see how Lake Kawaguchiko is completely surrounded by mountains. The ridgeline is part of a popular hiking trail that stretches from Misaka Pass to Mt. Kurodake, offering incredible views of Mt. Fuji along the way. There are also trails that descend into (or ascend from) the Oishi area, so hikers are a common sight at the park and nearby bus stops.
Directly behind Oishi Park on the ridge is 'Shindo Pass,’ a famous vantage point. From its open elevated platforms, you can enjoy a panoramic view of both the lake and Mt. Fuji, attracting many visitors year-round.
