Chureito Pagoda

Chureito Pagoda

A five-storey pagoda in the Arakurayama-Sengen Park. Although it is a little away from Lake Kawaguchiko, if you have time, why don’t you try to take a photo of the popular landscape?

Until a few years ago, this place was not known domestically or globally, and was a place known only by locals. First of all, it became a hot topic overseas as a place where you can shoot three symbols of Japan, “Mt.Fuji”, “Sakura” and “Five-storey Pagoda” at the same time. And gradually, the number of domestic tourists started to increase, and now it is a famous place for shooting Mt.Fuji.

There are more foreign tourists than Japanese people, so it makes me feel that this place is really popular overseas. The nearest station, “Shimoyoshida Station”, has many foreigners getting on and off.

The Chureito Pagoda is at the top of the 398 stone steps from the bottom. You can go up to the Pagoda by car, but it would be a good idea to enjoy the view of Mt.Fuji while going up the stone steps. By the way, this stone steps have been used for a long time for physical training local students etc., and those who are fast can go up in about 2 minutes! Please try if you are energetic.
