Sankodai

TThe name 'Sankodai’ (meaning 'Three Lakes Viewpoint’ in Japanese) is derived from its view of three lakes—Lake Saiko, Lake Shojiko, and Lake Motosu—all at once. It is located along the “Tokai Nature Trail,” a hiking route that follows Mount Ashiwada from Mount Hanekko near Lake Kawaguchiko, and offers a spacious resting area with a pleasant view.
Koyodai is just a 15-minute walk away, allowing you to enjoy a short hike within one hour from the parking lot.

Getting to Mount Sankodai
There are two climbing routes: one starting from the Lake Saiko side and one from Route 139. If climbing from the Lake Saiko side, take the “Green Line" tour bus from Kawaguchiko Station and get off at the “Saiko Minshuku" bus stop (¥700 one way). The ascent is approximately 50 minutes from there.
The most common route starts from the Route 139 area. You can park your car at the Koyodai Rest House parking lot at the base of the mountain, then hike toward Mount Sankodai via Mount Koyodai. The hike takes approximately 30 minutes to reach Mount Koyodai, and an additional 15 minutes to reach Mount Sankodai.
If traveling by bus, take the “Blue Line” tour bus from Kawaguchiko Station and get off at the “Koyodai Entrance” bus stop (¥590 one way).
