Ubuyagasaki shrine

Ubuyagasaki shrine

This shrine is enshrined on the cape of Ubuyagasaki. On a sunny day, you can overlook Lake Kawaguchiko and Mt.Fuji from this point. This shrine is also visible from the Kawaguchiko Ohashi Bridge, so some people may notice it.

Ubuyagasaki shrine is a subordinate shrine belonging to Kawaguchi Asama shrine. At “Magomi Festival” of Kawaguchi Asama Shrine, which is held every April 25, shinto priests carrying baby clothes come here with Mikoshi or a portable shrine, accompanied by many people. This festival expresses the transmission that the deity “Konohana-Sakuyahimeno-Mikoto" visited Ubuyagasaki to meet her grandchild “Ugayafuki-Aezuno-Mikoto" with newborn baby clothes.

In the old print left in Fujikawaguchiko-town, you can see ferry boats of the time when there was no bridge, and also the notation of “Ubuyasaki Asamasha shrine”.
