Umanori-Ishi (Stone for ride on a horse)

Umanori-Ishi

Beside Oishi road that continues from the Wakahiko road, there is this “Umanori-Ishi".

This road was the public road which Kai-country officials and politicians had been using to pilgrimage to the Kawaguchi Asama shrine for the purpose of calm prayer of Mt. Fuji. These parties purified the body in the Oishi Sengen Shrine on the way and went to the Kawaguchi Asama Shrine. They moved on foot from this point of “Umanori-Ishi" considered to be the territory of God. And then they left for home on a horse again from “Umanori-Ishi" after visiting to the Kawaguchi Asama Shrine.
